Event FAQs

Is there a rain date?
Doggy Dash is rain or shine. In the event of a rain delay or cancellation (due to severe weather), an update will be posted on the main page. 

Are dogs welcome at the Doggy Dash?
Yes! We have several activities for your dog to enjoy: the fundraising walk, a caricature artist who will draw a portrait of your dog, and a dog pageant. Dress up with your dog and you could win a prize! The pageant categories are on the Event Day page. Pet owners: Please review the rules for pet dog participation.

Are kids welcome?
Of course! Kids may participate in all of the activities offered at the Doggy Dash. Children under 13 may register for the walk at a discounted price and children under 5 may participate for free.

I'm registered to walk. How much do the other activities cost?
Those who are registered to walk may participate in the face painting, caricatures, and airbrush tattoos as part of their registration (no additional charge) and may participate in the dog pageant for $5 per dog, per category. See the Event Day page for categories.

I don't want to walk. Can I participate in the other activities?
Yes, we will have free activities: Seeing Eye dog demonstrations, Seeing Eye puppies to meet and greet, and you can participate in the dog pageant judging, which is based on crowd applause. In addition, there will be raffles, a 50/50 drawing, and dog pageant ($5/per dog, per category). We will also have a face painter, caricature artist and an airbrush tattoo artist for the cost of $5 per person for those who are not registered for the walk.

Can I pre-register for the dog pageant?
Dog pageant registrations can only be accepted at the event.

Registration FAQs

Do I need to register my Seeing Eye puppy for this event?
No, however, puppy raisers should check with their area coordinators to make sure this event is appropriate for their puppy. The question about pet dog participation in the online registration form does not apply to Seeing Eye dogs or Seeing Eye puppies.

How do I register more than one participant?
After you fill out the online registration form with all your information and accept the event waiver, the event summary page will have a button in the bottom right that reads, "Register Family Member." Click that button to repeat the process for as many people as you need to register for the event.

Fundraising FAQs

Can I collect cash and checks for my fundraiser?
Yes, you can collect cash and write us a personal check for the funds. Please provide us with the donor’s name, address, and contact information for acknowledgement purposes. You can also ask them to make a check out to The Seeing Eye and mail that to us on their behalf, or ask them to mail it and include your name and Doggy Dash in memo line. Will I get credit for donations that I collect via cash and check?
Yes, you can log in to your personal fundraising page and add these as offline donations to ensure that you receive credit. All donations will be verified before fundraising prizes are delivered.

Merchandise FAQs

I ordered or earned a t-shirt/bandana, how will you get that to me?
If you are coming to the event, you may pick it up at check-in. If you are unable to attend the event, we will mail your merchandise after the event.

How do I earn a free registration, t-shirt and bandana?
Participants who raise $100 earn a free t-shirt and bandana. Learn more about the fundraising benefits here.
